Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

woohoo!

Brandeis has declared a snow day tomorrow.

This is very, very exciting, 'cause damn, my reading was boring.

But... on the other hand, I might still have work. I don't know. Does "the university is closed" include the library, or just classes? I know the radio station is still open.... Hmm.

But still! It's the principle of the thing! Snowday, woo!!!

Also, yesterday rocked. We watched movies (Ghostbusters and Wayne's World), drank, dyed my hair (sheer blue-black; I'll try to get pictures eventually), played in the snow, and stayed up talking until after 5 in the morning.

Good times.

(ETA: The library will be open, but only for abbreviated hours... which start right after my shift ends! Woo!)

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

(no subject)

Home.

Home, in this case, meaning back at school.

I need to do a lot of things--call about internships, pick classes, email my advisor, and so on--but for now I'm happy to be here.

Mmmm.... sleep.

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

memo

Dear Mysterious Arsonist,

Please stop trying to burn down North Quad. I'm sure the freshman would appreciate it.

Vaguely scared,
Becky

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

Ahem:

Mod 10.

Oh HELLS yeah.

(For the non-Brandeisians, that's code for, "I got good housing, squeeee!! Senior only [which honestly I don't care about], kitchen, common room, and four singles; closer to campus and prettier than grad, where I live now.)

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

arrrrg.

Housing sucks. Housing sucks if you get a bad number. Housing sucks if you get a good number. Housing sucks because you end up dependent on other people or with people dependent on you. It's irritating and stressful and it makes me glad I'll be going into the real world after next year and never have to deal with it again.

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

I believe the phrase is, "Oh thank GOD."

Event number one: did not do nearly as badly on midterm as I expected. The goddamn HMO questions definitely fucked me up and will cost me points, but on the other hand, half of it was long-form essays and, well, I rock at those. And I think I got at least half credit on all the short answers, so... Here's hoping.

Event number two: I'm going to be able to get housing next year. I'm not going into detail here because housing is scary and I don't want to jinx it, but I will say my lotto number is significantly better than it was last year, and way WAY better than the year before that.

YAY for not living in a cardboard box on Chapels Field!

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

ah ha

I know a lot of Brandeis people are disappointed about the lack of snow. You shouldn't be. Snow sucks. I just got this from my Mom, consider it proof, or at least, amusing )

But in better news, apparently my dad is still doing quite well.
