Well, Sam is dead as a doornail. Or at least dormant as a doornail. Or... something.
Matt, being very nice, tried to revive him. But he wouldn't boot from a CD, and he wouldn't boot via firewire, and taking out and reinstalling the hard drive didn't reconnect anything that had come loose, so...
Well, he was four years old; he had a good life. He was loved.
That said, I also ordered a lovely 12" iBook tonight. Which may have helped advance me to the "acceptance" stage of mourning fairly quickly. (It has no official name yet because someone *cough* stole my name last semester, but at the moment I'm leaning towards Matsui. I mean, when I list things I'd like my computer to be, strong, reliable, ready to work every day, and generally awesome come to mind. So the name seems to work. I'm still open to suggestions, though.)
And now I fear that if I don't pay attention to Dan, he might explode.
