AND THEN I LAUGH UNTIL I FALL OUT OF MY CHAIR.

Project: Everyone Should Watch Greek, Part 1

The Sexy Guys of Greek

Hi. So. There's this show on ABC Family, which is really, really good. (Good enough that I'm baffled it's on ABC family. I mean, really?) It's smart and well written, it's a cast that features both gay characters and characters of color in major roles, it does both drama and comedy brilliantly. And above all, it has amazing, amazing characters.

But there seems to be no fandom. This makes me feel like this: :(((((((((((

So I am determined to convince everyone I have ever met to watch it. Have a massively short intro: Greek is an hour-long dramedy that airs Monday nights on ABC Family. It follows Casey Cartwright, a junior at Cypress-Rhodes University, who hopes to become president of Zeta Beta Zeta, the school's best sorrority; and her little brother Rusty, an extremely nerdy freshman who is pledging at Kappa Tau Gamma, the school's worst fraternity. Casey is stuck in a love triangle, with her current douche of a boyfriend, Evan, and her ultra-dreamy but definitely immature ex, Cappie. Rusty deals with his Bible-thumping but surprisingly endearing roommate Dale, and somehow ends up friends with closeted all-around cool kid Calvin. Wacky (and not-so-wacky) hijinks ensue all around.

Got all that? Good. Now aside from being surprisingly smart and progressive and awesomely written, a lot of the cast is also SO HOT. So here: Have a massive picspam of hottest members of the male cast. (Next time will be female cast, as they are also super hot.)

Greek: Such a pretty cast

So many pictures. So much pretty. )

...It occurs to me I just did almost the whole male cast, but left out the actual protagonist, Rusty. WHOOPS. Whatever, I will do a very special Rusty and Dale entry after I do the female cast. (Oh baby. Trust me, I'd do the female cast.)

ANYWAY. Interested, intrigued, or inspired to watch the show? You can see every episode -- free! -- at ABCfamily.com/greek. And I think you should do that immediately. And then write me some delicious, delicious Cappie/Evan hatesex. OH YES, I WILL BE POSTING ON THAT, TOO. So basically: stand by for a lot more fangirling and squeeing about this show, because you ALL SHOULD WATCH IT. RIGHT NOW.

THE FIC GOES LIKE THIS

After their awkward night pretending to be friends, Cappie is getting all nostalgic for the Evan he knew as a kid the fun guy he really liked just hanging out with. He's single and kind of lonely, since Casey is obviously in srs love with Max and Rebecca has just given him the "aren't you glad we're friends?" speech.

Meanwhile Evan is all angsty, y/y? He's having his Rich Kid Issues with his family and friends, he's cheating on Frannie anyway, and he's just looking for someone who doesn't want anything from him, and something that just feels...good. Ya know?

Anyway, they run into each other at Dobblers, Evan buys Cappie a beer for old times' sake, Cappie accepts for the same reason, and three or four rounds later, they get a hotel room and...

THEY MADE THE "I THOUGHT YOU TWO WERE GONNA KISS" JOKE LIKE 10 MINUTES AGO, HOW IS THIS NOT WRITTEN YET?????

phrase just uttered in my apartment

"Everyone likes penguins. They're like the jazz square of Animal Planet."

For the record, I am not the one who said it.

In other news, wow. Sonny With a Chance. That....that was a pretty gay B-plot tonight, what with Nico and Grady competing for a date with my favorite Chad Dylan Cooper. And then him not taking either one of them so he could hook up with a chick. An idea which had NEVER OCCURRED to the random sidekicks. I am kind of loving Sterling Knight, by the way. How excited am I that he plays Zef's kid in 17 Again? SO EXCITED.

[info]poisonivory, I know you don't have TV, but I thought you would not want to miss this.

Suck it.

I don't watch The Hills and don't care to, but I accidentally started watching Bromance With Brody Jenner. It's...amazing. Seriously. The most recent dude got kicked off for being "too bromantic" with a dude who (gasp) wasn't Brody! So this was his elimination montage:

AMAZING. HELL YES I will be watching the season finale, where Brody introduces his bros to his mom, and then goes home to meet their families. IT'S NOT GAY, because when they get in the hot tub together to talk about their feelings, they have women nearby.

Squeeeee!

ZOMG AVATAR

As if I didn't love Zuko enough already, in season three he has FLOPPY HAIR.

Spoilers through 3x11; nothing even remotely coherent. )

In short: I know I'm late to the party, but better late than never. Avatar is AMAZING.

I thought the Cold War was over!!

nrrrg.

I went to work for the first time in a week and a half today. Luckily, it was not the mess I feared, and nothing exploded without me. On the other hand, absolutely nothing I did today went right, and I could feel myself getting sick as I sat at my desk. Things I did not have this morning but do now: a stuffed up head, a sore throat, and a headache.

In much better news, I'm halfway through season two of Avatar, after marathoning season one in two sittings with Margot over vacation. Oh my GOD. I love everything about the show. If it had been around when I was 13, I'd have written the world's most EPIC Mary Sue about how I need to hug Zuko IMMEDIATELY and then fix his broken life. Because poor baby is BROKEN and I LOVE HIM.

That's all I got. Dinner now; then Tylenol PM and collapsing in bed.

It will be DELICIOUS, trust me.

Rachel and I recorded a video!

Happy Thanksgiving from Rachel A on Vimeo.

The people who've had the pie can attest, even when it turns out brick-like, it is amazing. We actually just finished eating the meal itself (the pie needs to chill for a few hours) and it was all fantastic. We only really cook one day a year, so it's remarkable things turned out as well as they did.

And now, back to the traditional Turkey Day MST3K Marathon. Because some traditions never get old.

Jazz hands!

South Park

So tonight's South Park? The parody of High School Musical?

Yes. It is indeed THE most amazing thing I've seen. Ever. [info]poisonivory, this is staying on the TiVo until you can come see it.

[ETA: [info]wemblee makes a good point, criticizing the incredibly over-the-top gay father in the episode, and fair enough. The episode is definitely not perfect. But the song parodies are dead on and awesome.]

I thought the Cold War was over!!

ahahaha fail

The TV station I'm watching just tried and failed to show two commercials at once. So What I saw was a 1-second clip of John McCain declaring, "Through the last eight years -- " He was then cut off by a giant add beginning, "REPOSSESSED HOUSES FOR SALE!"

Yeah, that's kind of the end result of the last eight years, isn't it?

In other news...Oh, Mike Rowe. You're kind of a douche. And I find that charming. ♥

I love that on Gossip Girl, I can't tell if a character is telling a ludicrous lie, or if it's just a ludicrous plot twist.

Thank goodness for new TV seasons.

Thing that is not helpful: an episode summary for Batman: The Animated Series that reads, "Joker attacks Gotham City with laughing gas."

Gosh, no kidding? Does Bruce Wayne also dress as a giant bat to try and avenge his parents' deaths? Thanks for clearing things up, Boomerang.

chibified me

two notes

Number one: Rachel says she can't post any more tonight, so it's up to me to say, HI TRAVIS! ILU! Also, curious, why still the troll-doll hair? Don't get me wrong, I love it! But srsly, why?

Number two: So Rachel and I hit the Apple Store, as we do. We were at different registers to check out, and as I finished first, I wandered over to wait next to her. Except it turned out not to be here. When the woman I was lurking behind looked over at me (understandably confused) and I realized my mistake, I managed the clever line, "Oh. You're not my sister. You just look like her. I'm sorry. That must be so odd for you!"

Though when she finished up she saw me standing next to my actual sister, and called, "You're right, I do look just like her!"

Still, though. I r a spaz.

Blink/Mush: So I Will Hold On

more on commercials

So now it turns out that the Fiber Optics kid and Bill from Wamu both in commercials for some hybrid SUV.

I think Veronica Mars's mother might be shilling pizza bagels or something like that, but I'm not 100% sure it's her.
